Doraleous takes their place in the story. Doraleous was a loyal guard, or so he holds himself to have been, though no record from before the Reset survives to say whose gate he kept or what world stood behind it. He carries the belief the way some carry a name: not as proof, but as the only thing left. He comes now to protect the innocent. Whether that purpose was given to him by someone long gone, or whether he made it himself in the silence after waking, he has not said.
