Aveline's Origin
Aveline The Crimson Remnant takes their place in the story. A life can be lost twice, once to the world and once to self and I lost between both. I lived among mines, surrounded by redstone, until my body could no longer tell the difference between dust and blood. When all of that disappeared, I didn't have much left to lose. All that was left was me... and this illness that decided to stay with me. Somehow, I survived that, too.
Aveline's Life So Far
Aveline carried two names before she carried this one: the name the mining village gave her, which no record kept, and the name the illness left her when everything else was stripped away. She grew up where redstone veins ran deeper than the wells and the air smelled of burnt metal and sulfur, and she watched those who knew the work prosper while the rest shared nothing of it. The mines went silent, the town emptied, and what had been a narrow life became ruins that few dare name aloud. She survived that, and an illness besides, and came to Lysanthir with little more than the habit of endurance. There she found Hecalyth, a High Reverend whose patience she studied the way a miner studies stone, looking for the seam. A nightmare returned her once to the village, the reddish fog and the deafening pressure, but a sweet song cut through it and she noted the difference between those two kinds of waking and said nothing about it.
Hecalyth showed her blueprints, or drawings, Aveline was not sure which, and said she had built it before. Aveline traveled west across a vast ocean, past savanna and frozen waters, past a floating island of snow, past fir forests and volcanic ground and a reddish forest she lingered in for Hecalyth's sake, until she found towering mountains, massive waterfalls, giant trees and mushrooms bathed in a strange bluish hue, and beyond them a small region of badlands gone gray and blue where no badlands had any business being that color. Out over the ocean beside those grayish mountains floated an island, and from it a waterfall ran upward. She followed it, finished her blueprints, and named the work Project Crimson Forge. She returned to find Lysanthir changed, a church now on the horizon, and was introduced to Lathrienne, the Keeper of Memory of Lysanthir, though exhaustion kept that meeting brief.
What the Forge is for, the record cannot say with certainty. The pages Aveline keeps are partial things: two resource designations corrupted beyond reading, a column whose materials must be combined in precise sequence lest the consequences prove fatal, and the section describing the Heart torn entirely from the original document. What survives describes four Core sections, Brain, Column, Heart and Cap, and four exterior Containment Towers rising some one hundred fifty-five blocks, their floor counts likewise obscured by damage. The Cap, called the Hat in Aveline's own notes, includes rest quarters, storage, and a cafeteria on the second floor, practical concessions to whoever will be authorized to work inside. The facility spans roughly fifty by one hundred fifty-five by fifty blocks. Whether the project is construction, engine, or something the record has no good word for, Aveline has not said, and the blueprints, as recovered, do not answer the question clearly.
Aveline's Recent Lore
Entry 17.5 22/22 VII. FINAL OBSERVATION The combination of U#GVWR()#, VR%@ #()#UJB, FRR@!()J systems, catalysts, enormous numbers of #()W!W!HV, and an infrastructure designed to contain the result far exceeds the requirements of a conventional facility. For security reasons, this document must not be distributed outside of authorized personnel. — End of report —
Entry 17.5 21/22 2. The Bridge The Bridge will serve as the physical connection between the Hat and Vhalmar. Its primary function will be to provide safe access to the Forge. However, this will not be its only purpose. The Bridge will simultaneously function as a conduit designed to transport #()#UJB directly to Vhalmar, powering the islands and any structures that may eventually be built on them. Therefore, the Bridge should be considered both a means of access and an extension of the Forge’s #()#UJB system.
Entry 17.5 20/22 The final route has not yet been determined. For the time being, this matter is not a priority. The structural strength of the Chain, however, must be considered critical. If the structure fails, the consequences would not be limited to the local area.
Entry 17.5 19/22 1. The Chain The Chain’s primary function will be to support the entire Forge. The design calls for connecting one end to the enormous mountain in the Blue Badlands, crossing the Forge, and finally anchoring the opposite end to one of the region’s floating islands.
Entry 17.5 18/22 VI. AUXILIARY STRUCTURES In addition to the Core and the Retaining Towers, two additional structures will be necessary: *The Chain. *The Bridge.
Entry 17.5 17/22 Large-scale material collection has begun, while the Grand Reverend has started using her contacts to arrange for the import of resources from other towns and territories. The current priority is to ensure that construction does not come to a halt due to a lack of materials. The project cannot afford a prolonged interruption.
Entry 17.5 16/22 V. RESOURCES There is currently no complete inventory of the materials needed to complete the Forge. The estimated quantities are so large that conducting a conventional count is impractical. Resource acquisition is already underway.
Entry 17.5 15/22 Each segment also requires R()H (RP€!H, whose role will be to act as a catalyst for the process carried out by the assigned YL@@DJ#UV . The corresponding distribution will be: *4 (RP€!HV per floor. *28 (RP€!HV per tower. *112 (RP€!HV throughout the Forge.
Entry 17.5 14/22 IV. CONTAINMENT VWD!! Each segment requires WKUHH YL@@DJ#UV to operate. The planned distribution is: *12 YL@@DJ#UV per floor. *84 YL@@DJ#UV per tower. *336 YL@@DJ#UV throughout the Forge.
Entry 17.5 13/22 The lower floor will be different from the rest: it will serve as the tower’s base and will be in direct contact with the ocean, utilizing it as part of the FRR@!()J and containment system. Each floor will be divided into !R%U segments, separated by approximately #LJKWW##() horizontal blocks. This results in: 28 segments per tower. 112 segments in the entire Forge complex. Each segment will increase the system’s total power. The exact amount of energy required has not yet been determined.
