Blurbs RKBS The "Scientist". takes their place in the story. Blurbs's earlier life was, by most accounts, a peaceful one. They grew up largely alone and to their own devices, without serious friendships or close ties, though no record suggests they mourned the absence. Relationships, by their own telling, held little interest. There was a career to tend to, and that was enough. What good is a life, they are said to have asked, if nothing good is remembered of it? They wanted to stand among the great scholars and inventors they had long held up as examples, the ones whose names still circulated in the halls where such things were discussed, and they wanted to be remembered the way those names were remembered. Whether that want was ambition or longing, or some quiet mixture of the two, no one who knew them in those early years has said.

None of it holds long enough to name.
